Clinical Supervision & Consultation

As outlined by the OCSWSSW, clinical supervision is a professional social work obligation to ensure effective, ethical practice. Supervision helps to protect the client and ensure high-quality care by fostering professional competency, skills, and self-awareness/reflexivity. It involves holding the supervisee to the same ethical standards that guide the supervisor’s own practice. Engaging in this process will help you deepen your clinical knowledge and skills, improve client relationships and outcomes, enhance your self-reflective capacity, integrate an effective use of self, address issues of transference and counter-transference, strengthen ethical decision-making, and ultimately increase your confidence and competence as a clinician.

With 10 years of direct practice experience as a social worker, alongside teaching roles at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels (University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, Seneca College) and my position as the Student Director on the Ontario Association of Social Workers’ Board, I bring a depth of knowledge and skills that offer tailored support for your developing practice. These roles have honed my ability to accommodate diverse learning styles, co-create safe learning environments, set clear goals, identify areas for growth, and provide actionable, specific feedback. My approach to supervision is collaborative, relational, creative, and critically reflective. I am best able to support clinicians practicing (or developing skills in) cognitive behavioural, narrative, mindfulness, trauma-informed, and motivational interviewing therapies. I also integrate psychoeducation in the areas of neuroscience, mindfulness, and affect regulation. For more on my practice philosophy, visit my About Me page.

I offer individual supervision services to all mental health practitioners, including registered social workers (RSW), psychotherapists (RP/RPQ), and counsellors in private practice and agency settings. Group supervision is also available based on interest. Each supervision session costs $140. These sessions may be covered by your insurance provider. All sessions are virtual at this time, with an in-person option coming soon in East Toronto.

Much like the client-clinician therapeutic relationship, it is critical that there is a good fit between you and your supervisor – some considerations for selecting a supervisor include their areas of expertise, professional experience, and style. If my approach resonates with you, feel free to schedule a free 20-minute virtual consultation here or reach out via the Contact page. Whether you’re new to the field, launching your own private practice, or a seasoned professional, I’m here to support you on your professional journey.
