About Me

Values & Philosophy

Hi! I’m Carolyn (she/her), a social worker/mental health therapist who believes strongly in the healing and transformative nature of relationships. My path to becoming a therapist was paved by a lifelong interest in understanding the human condition or what makes people tick. My personal and professional philosophy honours the inherent wholeness, worth, and dignity of all people, valuing each client’s right to self-determination and choice.

Having walked my own path of healing, I can appreciate that change is difficult and growth is not linear. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can learn more about you together. In our work, we will co-create an individualized treatment plan that meets you where you are (and where you want to go). Within the safety of a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, we can identify the patterns and themes that keep you from meeting your goals and feeling satisfied in your relationships. Whether your aim is to reduce symptoms, move through a challenging time, or gain deeper insight, we can develop a plan that moves you closer toward self-actualization and fulfillment.

My approach to practice is holistic, client-centered, collaborative, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive. I bring my full self into the therapeutic space, leading with authenticity, humour, curiosity, and nuance. I view my role as a compassionate guide, helping you identify your strengths and resources, enhance your capacity for self-awareness and reflection, and navigate life’s complexities in a way that aligns with your values.

The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor for facilitating meaningful change, making a good fit between you and your therapist critical. If my approach resonates with you, feel free to schedule a free 20-minute virtual consultation here (or reach out using the form below) to learn more and determine if we’d work well together.
